ITF Futures: Rikl ends Sunish dream run

Dream run for qualifier Dhruv Sunish ended in the hands of Patrik Rikl of Czech Republic in the quarterfinals of the ongoing OTA-ITF Futures-1 Men’s Pro Circuit Tennis Tournament here at the Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex today. Rikl won 7-6(5), 6-1.

Rikl will next face third seeded Arjun Kadhe, who got the better of former Davis Cupper Vijayant Malik by a clean 6-4, 3-0 (conceded) in his quarterfinal today. Second seeded Siddharth Rawat survived a scare as he managed to drub younger Aryan Goveas, unseeded in the draw by a marathon 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-3.

Rawat, currently ranked at 521 in the world will meet an experienced N Vijay Sundar Prashant in the semi final tomorrow as the later overcame the challenge from qualifier Kaza Vinayak Sharma by a dominating 6-2, 6-2.

Meanwhile, Arjun Khade and N Prashanth set up an all-Indians title clash against Sidharth Rawat and Manish Sureshkumar after winning respective semifinal matches comfortably.
